Congratulations! The very fact that you are searching for answers gives you tremendous power to change your life. Moving thru minds is a site dedicated to changing lives. The way we will be able to accomplish this is to teach people that they have the power to make the changes to the obstacles that block them from having the life they want. By learning to program your mind just like you would program your computer you will be able to, in effect, become your own therapist. We spend so much time in our lives looking out, that we rarely spend time looking in. The only time we stop our hectic lives to assess where we are is when we are involved in some emotional problem that overwhelms our ability to see clearly, and make a decision about what we should do to correct it. The decisions we make, if made in an emotional knee jerk can have consequences, sometimes for years. Even if you choose to not make a decision, that then becomes a decision in itself. So by learning how your mind is linked to your emotions, your decisions, and the way you feel about yourself, you will be able to begin to take the time to look inside yourself and to begin to develop a different way of seeing. Remember, no one is as critical of us as we ourselves can be, and it is much easier to dismiss what others may think of you, than what you think of yourself. The way you think of yourself is governed by many things that you will be learning about. Once you learn how and why you think and feel about yourself, you can then begin to change your thoughts and feelings, to think and feel the way you want. I have spent thousands of hours with clients that feel just as you do. Once they learned what you are going to learn here at this site, they were able to create lasting change themselves. They no longer needed me as their therapist. I am amazed at how many people spend literally thousands and thousands of dollars on therapy. Many people spend years of their lives talking about the problems that keep them in a broken state of mind, instead of spending that time creating the solutions to the problems. I wish I could tell you that you will not have any more problems if you learn how your mind works, but of course that would be totally false. However if you understand how your mind works and how to link your thoughts and emotions to change, you will spend your time on the solutions to the problem instead of dwelling on the problem itself. Let’s begin by learning about your mind. Your mind is made up of the conscious and the sub conscious. The conscious mind makes up only 12% of the mind while the sub conscious mind makes up 86%. You may be thinking, “That’s only 98%!” You’re right. The other 2% is made up of the critical mind. By the time you reach the age of about 9 years old, the critical mind is formed. This acts as a filter between the conscious mind and the sub conscious mind. Everything that you think and feel is processed through this filter and is cataloged in the sub conscious mind as a plus or a minus. An example of this would be, if when you were a child you had a dog that you petted and that dog loved you, you would love dogs. In your sub conscious mind this would be a plus. If, however, that dog bit you every time you tried to pet him, it would be a minus in your sub conscious and you would not like dogs. No matter how many people told you that little Buffy was a good dog, you wouldn’t like dogs because it is a minus in the sub conscious. The sub conscious mind doesn’t know the difference between good and bad or right and wrong. Have you ever had a time in your life when you felt as if you were going in circles and you wondered why that particular circumstance kept occurring? That’s because your sub conscious mind kept bringing you back to the unresolved issue. Remember the sub conscious mind is 86% and the conscious mind only 12%. Which of the two is the larger part of your mind? The subconscious is your store house for everything you know. Did you know that every thing that you have seen or done, every thought, every emotion and feeling since you were in your mother’s womb is stored in your subconscious mind? Much like a computer, it is all there stored on your hard drive. But unlike a computer, your mind can do something no computer can do… it can reason. We are what we think. Everything that we are comes from our thoughts and with our thoughts, we fashion the world in which we live. What does that mean for you? It means that within you is astonishing power…power to change not only the world in which you dwell, but also the world in which others live. If you do not control your life, then your life will control you. The good thing is you get to choose between these two. I am going to tell you the same thing I tell all my clients. Your therapy is up to you. I can give you the tools for change, but ultimately it is up to you to use them. I will be there with you every step of the way. How do I know that these techniques will work? Because I used them on myself to change my own life. First you must demand of yourself that you are absolutely going to create change in your life. You have to raise the expectation of what you are capable of. Write down on a piece of paper all of the things you are no longer willing to tolerate in you life. Now, on another piece of paper, I want you to write down all of your dreams (no matter how far fetched they may seem), just list all the things that you can think of. What is it that you aspire to become? Write it down. What do you dream your life could be? Write it down. Writing is a direct link to the subconscious mind. After you have your two lists, I want you to put them in a place where you can see them every day. I want you to read them once in the morning and then once just before you get into bed. As you read the list of the things you will no longer tolerate in your life, I want you to think of the reasons why you will no longer accept these things. (Your list can contain anything that you feel is holding you back, such as an emotion or a behavior). I then want you to think of how your life would be different if you did not have these things holding you back. Begin to experience in your mind how it would feel. How would your life be different? Act as if you have it now and then begin to explore how that makes you feel. Now to your next step…take the list of your dreams and think of just how different your life would be if your dreams came true. Link yourself to the feelings of your dreams coming true. Examine how you feel about these dreams. Do you have a real belief that you can accomplish these things? If not, why? Do this every day for at least 21 days. This is the beginning. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at movingthruminds@gmail.com. This is your first step to lasting change. You will learn why this step is important in the coming days and weeks. Allow yourself to begin to believe in yourself. The only person capable of keeping you from having the life you want …is you. |
